Afghanistan’s health system has been facing many challenges for years, including lack of funds. This problem has been exacerbated since the Taliban came to power, as many sources of foreign funding have been cut off or reduced. The lack of budget has caused health services to be limited in many regions of the country, and health facilities and access to medicines and medical equipment have been severely reduced.

In addition, the widespread migration of health professionals and the lack of experienced staff in the health sector have also worsened the situation. As a result, access to quality health services, especially in rural and remote areas, has become a serious challenge for people.

Inadequate facilities undermine the quality of health services in Afghanistan

Incomplete and inadequate facilities have severely affected the quality of health services in Afghanistan. Many hospitals and health centers operate with outdated and dilapidated infrastructure, and the lack of modern equipment and essential materials has limited their ability to serve patients. In some areas, there is not even access to basic facilities such as clean water and stable electricity, which seriously reduces the quality of services.

In addition, the lack of medicine, medical equipment, and essential consumables has made many patients unable to receive the treatments they need. These problems not only affect patients, but also have a negative effect on the efficiency and motivation of health workers. Inadequate facilities have also forced people to go to larger cities or even abroad for health services.
